IMMORTAL contest! Plus, awesome review and interview
The bad news: I still don't have final, set-in-stone book tour stops to announce to you guys, but it should literally be any day now.

The good news: The wonderful Book Review Maniac has posted a great review of Evernight, and I did an interview with her too. So check those out!

Finally, it's CONTEST TIME!

Although the vampire romance anthology Immortal is finally showing up in Borders and Waldenbooks stores around the country, it's still not available online, and I know that not everybody lives in a region where Borders and Waldenbooks have much reach. So here's what I am going to do:

Send me your favorite quote or line from Evernight, and you'll be entered into the drawing. On Sept. 22, I'll pick three names, and those three people will each win an autographed copy of Immortal!

To answer a few questions that might come up: (1) Yes, I'll ship anywhere, even overseas. (2) I only have copies in English. (3) It will only be autographed by me -- you'll have to check out signings by the other fabulous authors if you want their John Hancocks as well. (4) You can enter by commenting on this post, on my MySpace page or through the "Contact Claudia" section of my website.

Then I stared at myself in the mirror. It wasn't as if I'd never paid attention to my body before, but I'd never looked at myself and wondered how somebody else would see me. Lucas would see me, any second. Would he think I was beautiful? I realized that I felt beautiful, that I wanted him to see me. I brushed my hands over my stomach, then down the sides of my hips, newly sensitive to my own touch. The whole time, Lucas was just on the other side of the door. Getting undressed. Waiting for me.

I think my love for this line springs from the fact that I love the image of Bianca's parents being all, "er... so we're the first vamp parents ever, what do we do?" and picturing her in a tiny stroller with a tiny bottle of blood in her tiny hand. It's precious. And far better than damn Renesmee.

	Okay. I this passage makes me want to bite Lucas, and I've always been a sucker for imagery. So I choose this quote: "The thick metallic taste of it spread through me like fire, hot and uncontrollable and dangerous and beautiful." I love everyone's favorite quotes! Most of them are my favorite as well. As much as I would like to pick one of them, I wanted to go with a Vic quote, because he makes me laugh! *hugs Vic*

Bianca: "Hey. Have you seen Lucas?"
Vic: "That guy, he's crazy." In Vic's world, crazy seemed to be a compliment. "He cut out of study hall, and I was, like, what are you doing? And he was all, just cover for me, right? So I did, until now, but you're not gonna narc on him. You're cool."

	I'm going to have to go with, "It was the first day of school, which meant it was my last chance to escape." I LOVE that as an opening line it completely hooked me and had me wanting to know what Bianca had to escape. I also like the fortelling of what's to come in a way. I'm crossing my fingers to win as we don't have the bookstores that carry Immortal. :( (Reply to this)

	Thanks for this contest!! haha i immediately loved Ranulf, for some odd reason. I like the quote "What spirits animate this box?" when they're messing with the iPod in Modern Technology. 	My book is in Spanish too, hope there isn't a problem with that and that isn't too late. "Te mantendré a salvo de cualquier peligro, me prometí. Incluso de mí." (Last line of chapter 8) I just loved that part. The cliché is the boy protecting or saving the girl, so I liked the irony. (Reply to this)

Wow, it was hard to find the part I wanted in the internet (because I have the book only in spanish)

It's funny—when people call you "shy," they usually smile. Like it's cute, some funny little habit you'll grow out of when you're older, like the gaps in your grin when your baby teeth fall out. If they knew how it felt—really being shy, not just unsure at first—they wouldn't smile. Not if they knew how the feeling knots up your stomach or makes your palms sweat or robs you of the ability to say anything that makes sense. It's not cute at all.

Its just like "Oh yes, this is exactly what I have always thought too"

I wasn't going to answer this, but I was traveling this weekend past and rereading the book. I hit on a paragraph and...well...it's my favorite and I really wanted to mention it to you.

Dad nodded. "Balconies are powerful temptations, and they exert a strong gravitational pull on fountain drinks in the hands of teenagers. I've seen it happen."

Straight-faced, Lucas said, "I think I remember that from junior high science."

Yes, it completely misses the rest of the story, has nothing to do with the overarching plot, but I love that little moment beyond all reason. Whatever my mood, it never fails to make me laugh.

I burst out laughing when i read that. My sisters and mom were wondering what my problem was... I loved how Lucas said that without laughing or smiling ;D
